3 days. 1 epic team. Endless memories
3 days. 1 epic team. Endless memories
This amazing team was made up of three good friends, one international Master’s degree student, one computer engineer, and one determined diver returning to complete her Open Water dives 3 and 4 — all led by Perth Scuba Instructor Freddy.
We started strong with skills practice in the swimming pool, then headed to the infamous Rockingham Wreck Trail, where we saw how a wreck can become a safe haven for our fishy friends.
Interestingly, our trio of friends — Morgan, Seth, and Kayla — even brought their own onsite BBQ! Maybe that’s why they were so excited to get in the water once we arrived. Morgan and Kayla also picked out matching masks from our shop, and both completed their mask clearance skills with ease and confidence.
Wentong, an international student from China, joined the course thanks to his friend Albert — a fellow diver and enthusiast — who is considering becoming a diving instructor with Perth Scuba before next summer. It’s wonderful to see their shared passion for introducing others to the magic of the ocean.
Jordan, our computer engineer, decided to go all-in and purchased a full set of gear from us on day two — snorkel set, regulator, back-inflate BCD, beanie, and gloves. By day three, he was diving like a pro, feeling warm, comfortable, and totally in his element.
Silvia, who previously struggled to complete her Open Water dives 3 and 4 two months ago, returned with renewed confidence after practicing with her partner and our Manta Club. She successfully completed her course and is now a certified PADI Open Water Diver — congratulations, Silvia!
As a bonus, I also ran into Miles — a great friend and student from just two weeks ago — happily diving from the boat with perfect skill execution. It was so great to see his progress in action.
Time really does fly when you’re doing what you love. After three solid days with such a strong and positive team vibe, it’s always hard to say goodbye.
But this is definitely not the end… it’s just the beginning. The beginning of our deeper connection with Mother Nature and the ocean. The water will always be there, waiting for us. And we’ll keep coming back, again and again.
Be water, my friend.
You’re always on my mind.
See you down there soon!
