The Coombe Night Dive
Wednesday Night Manta Club Dive Report
17 July 2024
with a little extra......
What a night at The Coombe. It was an unusual day forecast wise and what we found at The Coombe was a little unexpected but it was still very diveable for the 5 brave adventurers that took to its depths.
With some out there to look around The Coombes secrets, and some out there to hunt, the night met everyones' expectations.
DMT Ethan delivered the site brief and checked the divers in. We then stood around in the rain waiting for them to return. I think we got wetter in the carpark than the divers did. It was good though, thanks to Ethans Mum we had an umbrella to keep the divers dry when they got out and came ashore.
A good night was had by all.
During the day I had the pleasure of taking two visitors from The Netherlands out on a Discover Local Diving adventure. The weather was a little sketchy for the day so the mission was on to find some suitable diving for them.
First off we headed to Rockingham Wreck Trail and met up with Perth Scuba Instructor Mina who was also on the mission to find somewhere to take her Open Water students. The Northerly winds made it very choppy at Wreck Trail so we went for a look at LionFish Reef in Port Kennedy. We were presented with calm seas but visibility wasn't the best. The reef gave us some seahorses, a cool occy and a few of the normal critters.
With that dive done the OW students stayed there to complete their skills and I took my visiyors off to Woodman Point. We were again met with calm seas and vis of a few metres but it was a pleasant dive with a few seahorses and some good school of fish swimming with us.
All in all it was a busy day diving wise for us from Perth Scuba.
Thanks to everyone that joined us for all our adventures.
