Ammunition Jetty Sunday Club Dive
Ammunition Jetty Sunday Club Dive
Sunday 29 March 2026
A serious turnout for a post cyclone dive!
Sunday morning kicked off with the traditional sausage sizzle at PS headquarters.
14 divers successfully submerged at Ammo Jetty is a massive credit to the club's spirit, especially given the surge and stirred-up viz Narelle left behind.
While it was murky to start, the divers hit the jackpot with pretty good viz at the end of jetty !
And saw:
Sampson Fish (sambo's) - these powerhouse predators often push closer to the jetty during high-energy weather.
Occies - big storms like Narelle often unsettle the seafood, uncovering new crab holes. Bringing the occies out in force to hunt or scout for new real estate among the rubble.
Seahorses - glad to see the delicate creatures successfully weathered the cat 4 surge by clinging tightly to their favourite sponges and pylon growth.
Globe Fish - with those big, cute eyes and spiny 'pincushion' body, they are easily the most photogenic residents at Ammo.
Cheers for a great dive. Such good vibes both in the water and afterward, especially those blue skies finally break through post-cyclone.
See you on the next club dive.
