Easter Saturday Manta Club Dive
Easter Saturday Manta Club Dive
Saturday 4 April 2026
What a cracking Easter dive day it’s been!
We mixed things up this week and hopped away from our usual Sunday routine, bringing the Manta Club Social Dive forward to Saturday. Turns out divers don’t care what day it is… if there’s water involved, they’re in. No bunny needed to convince anyone.
Under the watchful eye of Instructor Thomas, we had an egg-cellent turnout for our bacon and egg brekkie. The shop was absolutely pumping — gear hires, new toys, and a line out the door at one stage. Safe to say the dive team earned their chocolate eggs today.
Once the brekkie was wrapped up, we all made the hop down to North Mole. Conditions lined up nicely for tackling the rock wall and heading out in search of the wreck. And wow… If the photos and videos are anything to go by, the dive was nothing short of egg-stra special. Big thanks to everyone who shared their moments — they tell the story better than my words ever could.
Back at the top of the wall, it was the usual post-dive storytelling session — “the fish was THIS big,” plenty of laughs, and a solid spread of slightly melted chocolates and hot cross buns.
Honestly, I reckon half the chocolate didn’t survive the debrief
Big shoutout to our “Easter Eggs of the Day” — Anya and Chrimesh. Fresh out of their Open Water course and straight into North Mole for their first proper dive… that’s no small feat. Absolutely smashed it. They’ve kicked off their dive adventures in style and walked away with a dive flag to prove it. Huge effort from both of you.
Now for the thank-yous… and yep, this is where it turns into an Academy Awards speech.
Thanks to everyone who jumped in to help others in and out — North Mole can be a challenge, and it’s awesome seeing the club support each other like that
Big thanks to DM Guy Benney ,who was leaving the water with his diving entourage as we arrived, for leaving us his rope — it definitely didn’t go to waste. Have a chat to Thomas about its safe return.
And of course, thanks to every single diver who came along and made it such a fun, relaxed, and slightly chocolate-fuelled day.
Couldn’t have asked for a better Easter Saturday dive — no eggs-aggeration.
We’re back to normal programming next week with our Sunday dive, but before that we’ve got the Wednesday night dive coming up… so don’t pack the gear away just yet.
See you all underwater soon!
