Blackwall Reach: Wrecks, Wildlife and New Friendships
Sunday 11 October 2026
The ocean forecast wasn’t looking good this weekend, so 16 divers made their way to Blackwall Reach in search of the wrecks. We’re happy to report that everyone’s navigation was on point, with all divers finding the barge beneath buoy 716!
All but one of the divers had visited this dive site before, and everyone loved it. We welcomed several new members to the Manta Club, and some new friendships were forged along the way.
We also met another group of divers who told us they had just refreshed the trails leading to the barge and the cruiser.
Divers were fascinated by the tube anemones, starfish, seahorses, gobbleguts and formidable-looking estuary cobbler that call the river home.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to welcoming you on our next club dive!
