Manta Club Night Dive at Robb Jetty
Manta Club Night Dive at Robb Jetty
Wednesday 17 December 2025
Perfect conditions in the preceding days caused us to optimistically schedule this week’s night dive at Robb’s Jetty, one of the more exposed shore dive sites around but with an abundance of life that is second to none.
Unfortunately, by the time the dive rolled around conditions had changed, with a strong wind and sizeable swell rolling in through the site.
Despite this, a dozen or more of our local club divers still keenly geared up, summited the hill and kicked out past the waves to find the underwater conditions actually rather favourable and more than worth diving.
The one final curveball thrown at us was a silent longshore current that unknowingly swept all but two of the buddy teams further north up the beach than they had accounted for and thus caused them to be unable to locate the remains of the jetty.
Despite this, all reported having an enjoyable dive and still finding a lot of the various critters that were out and about.
We hope to see you all join us next week where we’ll once again be exploring one of our many local dive sites!! Until then..
