Robb Jetty Wednesday Manta Club Night Dive
Robb Jetty Wednesday Manta Club Night Dive
Wednesday 18 March 2026
Wednesday night at Robb's Jetty was just perfect. The water was flat and still at a comfy temperature for a long shallow dive. Trevally prowled overhead while big snapper tagged along; masked stingarees and western shovelnose rays (including a tiny juv) burrowed below. Blacksaddle goats dug the silt with western butterfish lurking behind ready for the snatch. Team cephalopod was well represented including friendly cuddle-fish, curious occies and squid content to exploit the torch light. Invertebrate fans enjoyed feather stars, cucumbers, sea hares, bailer shells, nudibranchs and brittle stars. The only reptile spotted was a boring loggerhead turtle... ho hum. Afterwards, everyone made it up the infamous dune of death, including one in sidemount(!). DM candidate Beth wowed us with her marine identification skills as we shared tall stories (with video evidence) and enjoyed hot drinks & nibbles. (Thanks Beth).
If you weren't one of the lucky eleven last night, don't let them have all the fun. Manta Club dive is on every Wednesday night. Charge those batteries and make it a date!
