Fourteen lucky divers enjoyed ideal conditions on Wednesday night as Rockingham Wreck Trail came alive.

The breeze had dropped off, leaving a flat, still surface and clear water below.

And now for this week's science question... 

How was the water so clear at seven o'clock, when it has been 3-4m vis at five thirty? Spoiler alert: I don't know the answer. If you do, pleased share!

Either way, having dived it myself just beforehand, it was an unexpected pleasure to see the good vis in the photos our divers shared together over a hot mug of soup. 

As well as the beautiful reef fish that we've become familiar with, there were some less common observations, including a big blue male W smooth box, and a good sized yellow-spotted boar. Stingarees were spotted along with a lion hiding in a boat. A mob of goats were seen harrassing a tarwine, and there was a stripey cleaning a big female box fish. The baby squid posing at the safety stop were the perfect end to a lovely hour of exploration.
