Bathers Beach club night dive
Wednesday 10 March 2022
Thank you to everyone who turned up for the Manta Club dive at Bathers Beach on Wednesday. 13 eager divers kitted up and made their way to the water amid a stunning sunset. This little known divesite turned out to be a complete delight! I was a bit apprehensive as the water was a bit choppy at the surface. We did a surface swim and then dropped down along the groyne. Once we descended, we were delighted to have 20m+ vis and completely calm conditions. Much to our delight, we found ourselves in an octopus garden. Big ones, little ones, there were dozens everywhere. Along with schools of bream, several baby cuttlefish, crays, squid and heaps of other critters. This was a fantastic dive and we will return for sure. See you all again soon.

Night diving on the North Wall at Coogee
Once again looking for somewhere not regularly visited for the night dives, the wind direction and swell coupled with an eye on the webcams at Fremantle harbor and Trigg somehow brought the North wall at Coogee into the crosshairs. Not a spot I’d done as a night dive so it was an instant choice. Three adventurous and Christmas shopping adverse divers came along and we were soon heading into surprisingly +7m viz as we cleared the short stretch of shallows and dropped quickly down to 5m.
