COVID-19 Response
In light of all that’s happening with COVID-19, we wanted to send a quick note to update you on Perth Scuba’s approach.
First, we hope you are all well. There’s no two ways about it – this is a tough period and we’d like to send you a huge thank you for your support and trust, it’s very much appreciated.
The health and wellbeing of our staff and customers is our number one priority. The majority of our dives and courses are proceeding as planned. However, we have suspended Emergency First Responder and PADI Rescue Diver courses due to the social distancing recommendations.
We can confirm that no staff or immediate family members have returned from any at-risk countries, nor are any in self-isolation. Our staff have all been advised to adhere to all nominated medical protocols.
We are taking all precautions necessary and are monitoring daily media, following guidelines very closely and adhering to Federal and State Government updates as the situation continues to evolve.
Our dive shop and dive vessel have always been at the highest standard and this will continue. Given this current situation, extra hygiene measures have been put in place such as more regular sanitising of door handles, bathrooms, counters, rails, dive equipment and shop stock. Disposable cutlery and disposable cups will be available on our vessel on request.
Watching the current news reports tells us that people are self-isolating and getting tested – people are being vigilant and being cautious around their own risk. Although, they do seem to be hoarding toilet paper! We have also found that customers are not being deterred from our dive shop or dive vessel.
We support and re-iterate the Australian Government recommendations that, if you have recently travelled overseas, if you have had contact with anyone who has tested positive to Covid-19 or, if you are showing any symptoms of the virus, you should not attend any events and you should adhere to the latest medical advice.
We’ll continue to deliver dive courses, club dives and boat dives for as long as we can. Our courses are predominantly underwater and allow for social distancing as recommended. We are maintaining our current opening hours at Perth Scuba and look forward to welcoming you.
Most importantly, in this time of uncertainty, please look after yourself and others. There’s nothing more important than your physical and mental health.
