Graced with near perfect Wednesday night dive conditions
Rockingham Wreck Trail
Wednesday 9 August 2023
After the past few weeks of really dodgy Wednesday nights we were graced with near perfect conditions for our dive at Rockingham Wreck Trail.
Our 9 divers descended onto the wreck trail with a water temp of 15 degrees and great visibility. One diver remarked it is the best vis he has seen at this dive site. As usual there was an abundance of the critters that come out at night. Seahorses, Samson fish, striped catfish and tasseled leather jackets to name a few. There was even a scorpion fish seen on the tyre reef.
All in all the dive was enjoyed by everyone. It was great to see some new and not so new faces join us. Tonight saw the first appearance of our ' after dive diver survival kit'. The hot soup, tea and coffee was greatly appreciated by our divers. After a night dive, especially a winter dive, a nice warm cup of something is appreciated. Thanks to Joey and Lee for putting the package together for our Manta Club night dives. In the coming weeks we will bring back the BBQ. Where else would you want to be on a Wednesday night?
We hope to see you all soon at one of our club dives, either on Sunday morning or for the adventurous, our Wednesday night dives. The Manta Club dives are a great way to meet other divers that share your love of the ocean. If you don't have a regular buddy to dive with then come and join us, make new friends and explore the great shore dive sites we have along the coast.
