Mermaid II Liveaboard – Daily Dive Report 

The Komodo Islands

Day 1 – Arrival & Departure
We arrived onboard Mermaid II and got straight into setting up our dive gear, completing paperwork, and settling into our cabins. After the  safety briefings, we were ready to begin the adventure.
With everything in place, we set sail overnight towards Mojo Island, full of excitement for the dives ahead.

Day 2 – Diving Begins 
 Location: Mojo Island

Dive 1 – Angel Reef
Conditions were incredible with ~40m visibility and warm waters (~39°C).
Marine life highlights included:
• Schools of emperor fish
• Blue-spotted trevally
• Majestic angelfish
• Blacktip reef sharks
• Banded sea snakes

Dive 2 – Little Angel
A stunning coral wall greeted us, bursting with vibrant colors.
Highlights:
• Clownfish guarding their eggs 
• White tip reef shark
• A cruising turtle 
• Longnose butterflyfish
• Huge school of rainbow runners

Dive 3 – Pelabuhan Haji (Night Muck Dive) 
Another amazing dive with crystal-clear conditions (~50m visibility).
Macro lovers’ dream with sightings of:
• “Shaun the Sheep” nudibranch
• Baby mimic octopus
• Cuttlefish
• Bobtail squid
• Decorated crab
• Scorpionfish
• Eastern triangular butterflyfish
• Lionfish everywhere
• Blackspot puffer
• Mantis shrimp (in action!)
• Neapolitan spotted eel

What an epic start to the trip — world-class visibility, diverse marine life, and unforgettable dives. Can’t wait to see what the next days bring!
