Perth Scuba manta club night dive

Thank You to everyone that came to the Perth Scuba night dive. We met in the carpark at Bulk Jetty for a dive brief then went down to the water to start our dive. Conditions were amazing with low wind and flat waters. Visibility was about 2-3 meters with a seahorse, squid, crabs and several rays seen.

Manta Club dive at Woodman Pt View – good visibility up to 5m, awesome seahorses, brain corals, and huge schools of Talmas

Sunday 19 February 2023

This Sunday morning was quite sunny, and almost perfect weather and water conditions were seen at Woodman Point. The visibility was good, near 3 – 5m. Brain corals sat around their usual places, manly near the tip of groyne, where large schools of Talmas, stripeys, and other small fish were feeding. Very large seahorses were seen (some even were reported reproducting), as well as some  large schools of small catfish and larger Talmas were seen.  The water temperature was perfect, still at 24C, so 29 of divers in our group inspected this not often-visited dive site for full 50 mins. Jellies were not reported.

Divers of almost all possible different experience levels were present, from Open Water Divers to the Rescuers, and even an an MSDT with nearly 2000 logged dives; many new OW divers joined our group today, and everybody enjoyed exploring this dive site. Perth Scuba's new Divemaster trainee Rosalie did exceptionally well at preparing the large group of divers to experience this special dive site, and also looked after some diver groups underwater. Thanks everyone for coming to this Manta Club dive! See you on next Manta Club events soon.

What an awesome night out in Coogee on Wednesday night. Once again, Sue’s Groyne came alive and did not disappoint our divers.

Cuttlefish, Lionfish and Port Jackson’s we’re the feature attractions amongst the usual suspects of marine life. There were also a few crays spotted within the rock wall.

By all accounts this was another successful free Wednesday night Manta club dive. All divers remarking on how great this dive site is and what a great choice it was for tonight’s dive.

I hope to see you all again on our next dive.

Wednesday 8 February 2023

As the sun set over Ammo Jetty 15 divers went exploring the night life .

While visibility wasn’t as good as reported on Sunday there was still plenty to see.  The usual suspects of seahorses and leather jackets were joined by Velvet Fish, eels and an occy or two. There was a report of a blue ring octopus so be careful, they are out and about.  There was also a Port Jackson or two.

Another great night to be out in the water for the free Perth Scuba Club night dive.  I hope to see you next dive.
